Residents
From Highway 101, take Exit 5 and follow signs for Rawdon and Newport on Highway 14.
Drive for approximately 5 minutes to the village of Brooklyn.
At the military monument in Brooklyn (2 gas stations opposite), bear left and proceed up the hill.
At the top of the hill, drive straight through the intersection. Highway number changes from #14 to #215. DO NOT turn to drive past schools and Dept. of Transportation garage.
Pass the rink on right, cross a small bridge and at the top of the next hill, turn right towards Scotch Village on Hwy #236. Drive approximately 4km.
At the Coast Gas Station in Scotch Village, turn left on to Station Rd.
At the Tee intersection at the end of Station Rd., turn left on to North River Rd.
Bear to the right at the top of the hill and the road becomes Walton Woods Rd.
The landfill site is on the left after driving between 5 and 10 minutes from the last turn. The civic number is 1569.
Sports Fields
Hantsport School Ball Field (School Street)
This field is home to the Hantsport Shamrocks. The Hantsport Shamrocks are charter members of the Nova Scotia Intermediate Baseball League.
Foundry Sports Field (10 Foundry Road)
This Multi use field is Hantsport Soccer Associations home field as well as the Windsor Warlords Football. Foundry Field is an excellent facility with on-site washrooms, generous play area for children and sitting area. This field has excellent drainage and can be used for other sports as well.
Med Starratt/ Billy Cleveland/ Red Barn Fields (6 Main Street)
These Ball Fields are located on the Hantsport Memorial Community Centre Grounds and are utilized by The Hantsport Minor Baseball Association.
Facilities / Parks
HMCC Park
The Community of Hantsport through a Recreation Agreement manages the facilities located on the Hantsport Memorial Community Centre Grounds 5/6 Main Street. The House and Barn remain in the management of the HMCC Board. This 18 Acre Park has great recreational use as well as leisure. For more information, please visit the HMCC Website.
Playground / Splash Pad / Pool
In the spring of 2012 the playground underwent major renovations consisting of 6 new pieces of play equipment and the installation of a Vortex Splash Pad. The playground has become a center focal point, great place to stop for a picnic, rest, and enjoy. Insert Picture In the upper portion of the property is a large public pool open in the months of July & August.
Tennis Courts
Hantsport Tennis Courts offer 3 playing surfaces. These courts were installed in 2003 and are one of the best courts in the area. Just grab a racket and hop on the court as there is no charge for use.
Dog Park (Located beside the Tennis Courts)
This is a great fenced in area for you dogs to run and play!
Basketball Courts / Baseball Fields
Basketball Courts are located in the main entrance of the Hantsport Memorial Community Centre Grounds.
Also, located on the Community Centre grounds are 3 baseball fields The Med Starratt, Billy Cleveland, and the Red Barn Field. These fields are available for tournaments by contacting the West Hants Recreation Department 902-798-6938.
On School Street, next to Hantsport School, is home to the Hantsport Shamrocks Baseball League. Summer games can be enjoyed Mid June- Mid September.
Fundy Centennial Park
Located on Avon Street this park provides a picturesque view of the Avon River. Great place to have a picnic or to rest and view the tides and scenery.
Chittick Park
Just across the road from Tim Horton's on Chittick Ave this park offers a nice rest area with a Memorial Fountain dedicated to the firefighters.
McDade Park
Located on Oak Street just up from the Fire Department this park offers a nice rest stop.
We offer the the following pre-authorized payment options as a means of paying annual tax and/or quarterly water bills.
Tax Payment Options
Property Tax - Full Amount
This option allows the customer to pay the full amount of the annual tax bill on the 28th of September each year. Complete the corresponding Property Tax PAP Enrollment Form W WH PAP Form WWH Logo Taxes, checking off the box for Full Amount. The tax account must be current prior to enrollment.
Property Tax - Monthly Withdrawal
This option can serve as a substitute for customers who currently pay their taxes via post-dated cheques. Complete the Property Tax PAP Enrollment Form W WH PAP Form WWH Logo Taxes, check off the box for monthly withdrawal, indicating the amount and the month you would like your payments to begin. Your account will be debited on the 28th of each month.
You will continue to receive your regular billings and annual reminder notice that can be used to maintain your records.
Interest will be charged on outstanding balances as normally applicable.
Water Payment Option
Complete the corresponding Water Utility PAP Enrollment Form W WH PAP Form WWH Logo Water and the full amount of your water bill will be debited from your bank account two (2) business days before the due date.
Important Notes - Pre-Authorized Payments
A Void Cheque must be included upon submission of PAP Enrollment Form. If you do not have a void cheque, please contact your financial institution.
To enroll in the Pre-Authorized Payment Program, return the completed application form at least thirty (30) calendar days before the first withdrawal as stated on the enrollment form.
If you are enrolled in the PAP Program and want to change your banking information, you must complete a new enrollment form at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to your next monthly payment.
To cancel your pre-authorized payments we require notice of cancellation in writing thirty (30) calendar days prior to the next scheduled payment. Payment may not be eligible for return after the closing date of the sale of a property. Please contact us if you are considering selling or have sold your property.
It is important that all tax payers on Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) Program examine their annual bill for outstanding balances. It is the responsibility of the taxpayer to ensure their tax account remains current. Interest will be charged on outstanding balances as applicable.
If your PAP returns non-sufficient funds, or otherwise, a fee of $25.00 is applied to your account. Under the Canadian Payment Association regulations, those signed up for PAP will be removed from the program after two (2) NSF automatic debits.

Drop Box
A 24-hour drop-off payment box is located at the front entrance to our municipal office located at 76 Morison Drive, Windsor
DO NOT INCLUDE CASH in payments made via the drop box.
In Person
We accept payments of cash, cheque, money order or debit in person at our Municipal Office located at 76 Morison Drive, Windsor during regular business hours.
Online & Telebanking
Most financial institutions offer their own services and methods of registration, so please contact your financial institution for details and ask whether they provide a recurring payment option.
Online/telebanking transactions may take up to five business days to be processed.

Please take note of spacing and special characters in the payee name as searches can be very specific.
To date, most financial institutions have completed set-up of the new West Hants Regional Municipality as a payee. If your financial institution is not included above please call us at 902-798-8391.
Pre-Authorized Payments (PAP) Program
We offer pre-authorized payments as an option to pay tax bills and/or quarterly water bills. To enroll in the Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) Program, return a completed application form (found below) at least thirty (30) calendar days before the first withdrawal as stated on the enrollment form. Please ensure that a void cheque is included in your submission. Contact your financial institution if you do not have a void cheque.
Property Tax - Full Amount

Complete the Property Tax PAP Enrollment Form, check off the box for Monthly Withdrawal, indicating the monthly withdrawal amount and the month you would like your payments to begin. Your bank account will be debited on the 28th of each month.

You will continue to receive your quarterly water invoice. Keep invoices for your records and review them for outstanding balances. Customers are responsible to ensure their account remains current. We send reminder notices 10 days after the invoice due date if your account is carrying a balance. A monthly interest charge is applied to outstanding balances.
Cancelling or Changing PAP Information
To cancel your pre-authorized payments, we require notice of cancellation in writing thirty (30) calendar days prior to the next scheduled payment. A PAP Cancellation Form can be downloaded here. Payment may not be eligible for return after the closing date of a property. Please contact us if you are considering selling or have sold your property.
