Storm Event – Debris Disposal

- Excess construction, demolition and renovation debris (e.g. wood, drywall, carpet, etc.) can be taken to the West Hants GFL Landfill.
- Food waste from fridges and freezers that have gone bad due to power outages must still be separated from the packaging before disposal.

Hiring Debris Removal Services:
If you hire an individual or company to remove flood-related debris, ask them to provide a scale ticket from the disposal site they are hauling the waste to. This helps ensure waste isn’t being dumped illegally.
