We Need Your Help to Build a Stronger West Hants...Together
With the consolidation we recognized the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a better, stronger future through community engagement.
RAD Consulting was hired, recognizing the need to engage as many diverse perspectives as possible and acknowledging the socially dynamic complexity of such an effort, through funding received through Communities, Culture and Heritage, The consultants gathered insights from community leaders, staff and our politicians during Phase 1 of the project which was presented to the Coordinating Committee early 2020 which can be found here along with the Interim Report.
We are now reaching out to you, our larger community, for Phase 2 of the project through various means to speak of YOUR aspirations for our new regional municipality and to incorporate YOUR visions for community-led projects. This project provides a forum to reach out to all of our community members including those of you that may not have been involved in community planning discussions discussions in the past such as Glooscap First Nation and our African Nova Scotian community members, our LGBTQ+ community, youth and seniors, among others.
The online Consultation Kickoff Meeting is taking place on November 25th, 2020 at 6pm. Click here to join the Zoom Meeting or dial 1 778 907 2071 using the Meeting ID: 967 2579 9811 and passcode: Passcode: 511730 to join from your phone.
The project will conclude with a comprehensive analysis of all consultation information prepared and reported to Council in January 2021. Those taking part in the project will also have the opportunity to become part of a community advisory committee to help to shape the Municipality’s future engagement framework.
