Refund Policy
How do I pay for a program? When is my payment due?
- Online registration requires credit card payment at the time of registration.
- In-Person payments can be made with cash or debit card only. Payments are accepted at the Municipal Office, 76 Morison Drive. In the Summer, payments can be accepted at the Hants Aquatic Centre, 306 Stannus Street.
- We are unable to accept E-transfers as a form of payment.
- Pre-approved payment plans are available.
- Please request this at the time of registration. Registration must be done over the phone.
- Please contact us before your program begins if you need a payment plan.
If payment is not received 5 business days prior to the program start date, you will be removed from the program, and your space will be offered to the next person on the waitlist. You will not be permitted in the program.
Payment cannot be accepted in programs by program leaders. Outstanding invoices, after 30 days, will be handed to the Finance Department and your account will be charged interest until paid in full.

How will I get my refund?
- Refunds can be issued in the form of a credit on your account. This credit can be applied toward another activity or program. Please note that there is no guarantee that credits can be used prior to March 31.
- Account credits must be used by March 31 of each year. After March 31, credits over $5 will be refunded to you; credits under $5 will be removed from your registration account.
- Refunds can be issued in the form of a cheque and sent in the mail.
- Please ensure your mailing address is up to date in your online account. Once a refund request is received, it can take up to 3-4 weeks to receive your refund cheque in the mail.
- You can also choose to donate your refund to the West Hants Inspire Program. This fund helps West Hants residents that may otherwise not be able to afford to participate in recreation opportunities in West Hants. If you would like to donate, please reach out to the Community Development’s Programs Team.
